Whether you're building a character, designing a world, wrestling with structure, or trying to understand why your favorite story hits the way it does — this is where you come to go deeper. To find the truest version of your story. To build with intention and make every piece feel inevitable.
Across every genre. Every medium. Every level.
This is your storytelling potluck. Pull up a chair.
“A celebration of narrative as both craft and chaos, blueprint and instinct.”
About Brian
I’m Brian Williamson - the creator behind Plot Luck.
I’ve spent years working inside the entertainment industry across film, television, streaming, development, studios, production companies, and story consulting. I’ve read thousands of scripts, worked with hundreds of writers, and helped creators sharpen everything from characters and structure to pitches, worlds, arcs, and big messy ideas that are still figuring out what they want to become.
But Plot Luck did not start because I wanted to make another “writing tips” channel.
It started because I am obsessed with the deeper question underneath every great story:
Why did that work?
Why does one character feel real while another feels written? Why does one villain take over the whole story? Why does one ending feel inevitable, while another feels like the writer just ran out of road? Why does one scene hit you in the chest, while another has all the right ingredients and still somehow falls flat?
That is the stuff I love exploring deeply!
Plot Luck is where I break down storytelling across movies, TV, anime, games, books, comics, and anything else with a story worth stirring. Because honestly, all stories regardless of what medium, are worth understanding deeper. My goal is to make the craft feel clearer, more alive, and more useful for people trying to tell their own story.
Writers. Creators. Filmmakers. Story nerds. People building their own worlds. People trying to fix a character arc. People who just finished a show and cannot stop thinking about why it hit so hard.
That’s who this is for!
Begin Your Plot Luck Journey
Every week on YouTube I break down the craft of storytelling — characters, plot structure, worldbuilding, the entertainment business, and everything in between. These are four of the best places to start.
